One day in school we were just sitting there and we started to analyze Dr. Suess books and this is what my friend Zac came up with " The freundian analysis of green eggs and ham. Obviously the color green represents nature in the emersonian and thoreauian idea of romanticism and nature as the sourse of all truth. The egg represents birth or life while the ham, a piece of flesh, represents death and human mortality. The main character attempts to get others to partake in these symbols but they resist, much as we subconsciously resist the knowledge of our finite existance and the ultimate futility of life. They resist but in the end they taste the truth and realize that it is wonderful. This is a representation of the Romantic view of nature as the source of truth and the freudian belief that happiness comes from an understanding of our own mortality."
